Lesson 5

For the background, I first masked off the flowers, stems, and sticks. I wet the paper, combined Burnt Umber and Prussian Green directly onto the paper and used a plastic bag for texture.

This is a painting of the Hepatica Nobilis (European Liverleaf) that is living in the shade in my back yard. As it is a spring plant, the flowers come up through the ground first and are quite beautiful. When the flowers die off, then the leaves appear and are pretty throughout the summer. Posted by Picasa

    Cathy,

This is a wonderful homework assignment. Creative use of the techniques from the class and a beautiful painting of the flowers.
